VCRPlus is a hardware system created by GemStar, Inc. which allows VCR's to be easily programmed via the use of "plus" codes which determine the date, time, channel and duration of the program to be recorded. These codes are usually found in one's local newspaper or television section and are usually much easier to input (to a VCRPlus device or VCRPlus-enabled recorder) than the four variables themselves. In the event that no such code listing is available, however, this program will calculate the code for you based upon the same inputs. It will also do the reverse (determine the date, time, channel and duration from a previously calculated "plus" code). It has a configurable "channel mapping" screen which allows one to "map" VCRPlus channels to local cable numbers base
